Chelsea 'plan $90 million raid for Alexandre Pato'
A BRITISH newspaper claims Chelsea will pay $90 million for teenage Brazilian star Alexandre Pato from AC Milan - then loan him straight back.
The News of the World says in an exclusive story that Chelsea will happily smash the transfer record for a teenager, previously the $55 million Manchester United paid Everton for Wayne Rooney, but allow Pato to stay in Italy until after the World Cup.
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti believes his former club will now do business after rejecting all earlier approaches for Pato, 19, who is tipped to become one of the world's best players.
A Stamford Bridge insider said: "Ancelotti's so keen to capture Pato that he will pay a club record fee and still allow the kid to stay at Milan for another season. That tells you how highly he values him."
